ABOUT CROPPED PHOTOGRAPHY

My name is Debra Martinez, and I enjoy photography. My undergraduate degree is in Fine Arts from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. Graphite pencil was my medium of choice at the time, which taught me the importance of light, shadows, detail, and composition. While at UIU I also took a black and white photography class. After college, I worked in graphic arts and advertising, but a majority of my career was in human resources. Over the years, I channeled my continued love of art through my photography. Many of my photos are cropped, which means I feature subjects from a close up perspective. With the right composition and lighting, you can make any photo interesting and eye-catching. I want to share with you what I see through my eyes, whether it’s something around my house, outside my front door, or from my travels around the world.
